31/05/2023

Apple in the United States announced earlier that the “My Photo Stream” service is expected to be shut down on July 26, 2023, which means that Apple users still using this feature need to migrate to “My Photo Stream” as soon as possible before that date—iCloud Photos” service. In addition, the official also stated that starting from June 26, Apple will no longer accept users to upload photos to “My Photo Stream”, and after 30 days of retention, it will be officially closed on July 26.

“My Photo Stream” is a free service launched by Apple in 2011. Apple users can upload up to 1,000 photos in the past 30 days to the iCloud platform and then can read them on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and PC. Pick. While “iCloud Photos” can upload countless photos and keep them forever.

Still, My Photo Stream does have one advantage: it will only consume your iCloud photo storage capacity if the user downloads the photos to another device before the 30-day period is up. And the images in My Photo Stream are already stored on at least one of your devices, so as long as the original device is still there, you won’t lose any photos in the process. But, of course, if the image you want isn’t in the gallery on a particular iPhone, iPad, or Mac, you’ll have to save the photo to that device’s gallery.

The “My Photo Streaming” service was launched earlier than “iCloud Photos”, but there is a significant overlap between the two, and Apple is currently promoting the “iCloud Photos” service, so it decided to close the “My Photo Streaming” service. “Serve. While the two services offer similar functionality, it’s useful to think of My Photo Stream as a way to sync photos across devices, while iCloud Photos is a backup service.

Whether it is “My Photo Streaming” or “iCloud Photos” service, its main purpose is to allow users to browse photos simultaneously on multiple Apple devices. If the user only has one Apple device, whether “My Photo Stream” is turned off will not have much impact, and the photos will not be lost.
