Anyone who loses their MyKad may face a fine of RM 1,000.

According to the National Registration Office (JPN), people who lose their MyKad will be fined. For the first loss, a fine of RM 100 plus a handling fee of RM 10 will be levied, while for the second loss, a fine of RM 300 plus a handling fee of RM 10 will be levied, making a total of RM 310.

For third loss or more, a fine of RM 1010 will be levied, which is RM 1000 plus a handling fee of RM 10.And an investigation will be conducted by the National Registration Office to see if this person is involved in the sale or deliberate loss of a MyCard.

Persons with disabilities, the poor, persons aged 60 and over, victims of natural disasters, victims of theft, robbery and plunder, and young people under 18 are exempt from fines.
