It is heartbreaking to watch a video of a female student begging an elderly woman to return 200 yuan (about RM130) to her that recently went viral on China’s Douyin.
The girl and her classmates at the time lost money while traveling home. After being gently reminded by a witness, she discovered that the money had been taken by an elderly woman. The entire procedure was plainly visible, yet the elderly woman refused. She acknowledged taking the cash but claimed to have carried the 200 yuan from home.
The girl cried and knelt down, begging the elderly woman to return the money to her. She claimed that because her family was poor, the 200 yuan was needed to cover her living expenses. But, the old woman responded sarcastically, “The investment is worthwhile. Whoever picks it up belongs to him, “Did you write your name?,” “Did you see your money picked up?” “extremely perplexed.
When a man on the side noticed this, he did nothing to stop the elderly woman. As an alternative, he offered the girl 200 yuan and told her to act as though the incident never occurred. Helping the child, still trying to persuade her to forget it, and even requesting that she phone her parents to handle this situation made the girl feel extremely helpless, causing her to break down and scream, “My parents are not at home!”
The youngster reportedly stays with her grandparents because her parents are reportedly not there. According to Zeng Netizens who were present, the 200 yuan was actually provided to the daughter by the older brother and the old woman never paid the money back, even though it is stated that she did so after being persuaded by everyone.
