Starting from 1 September 2022, government will implement a new cap on social insurance coverage from RM4,000 to RM5,000.
Under the Malaysian Social Security Act, employer is required to pay 1.75% of the employee’s contribution and employee is required to pay 0.50% of the employee’s contribution. Both the employer and employee are required to pay social security contributions in accordance with the Employees’ Social Security Act 1969 (Section 4).
