Ambank has announced the closure of one more branch in December, which combined with the four previously announced, means that Ambank will close five branches this year.
According to Ambank, two branches will close on September 30, 2022, two branches will close on December 2, 2022 and one branch will close on December 9, 2022.
These branches will be merged with other branches and their operations will be transferred to other branches after closing.
The affected branches are AmBank Jasin, AmBank Kuala Kangsar, AmBank Raub, Ambank Tanjung Karang and AmBank Shah Alam Seksyen 13.
The last date of operation of these branches is September 30, 2022, subject to the approval of the State Bank.
AmBank Raub will also be closed and relocated to AmBank Bentong and AmBank Tanjung Karang will be closed and relocated to AmBank Bestari Jaya, the last day of operation of these branches is December 2, 2022, subject to the approval of the State Bank.
Ambank branch in Shah Alam Seksyen 13 will be closed and relocated to AmBank in Shah Alam Seksyen 15 after December 9, subject to the approval of the State Bank.
AmBank customers’ bank accounts will not be affected in any way, as the business of the relevant branch will be transferred to the new branch. Users can still use cash transfer machines (CDM), check processors (CQM), and automated teller machines (ATM) as usual.
Users can also continue to use AmOnline Internet Banking to process various transactions. Those who have not yet signed up for AmOnline can do so now to enjoy the convenience of Internet banking and be able to handle their banking transactions anytime, anywhere.
With the popularity of Internet banking, banks in the country are restructuring their branch operations and reducing the size of their branches.
