Almost 30% of Malaysia’s children have received their first dose.

As of yesterday, 1,041,733 Malaysian children aged five to eleven had received their first dose of Covid-19 vaccine as part of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme for Children (PICKids).

According to the CovidNow website, 15,064,528 people, or 64% of the adult population in the country, have received a booster dose, and 22,928,999 people, or 97.5 percent, have finished their vaccination, while 23,205,772 people, or 98.7%, have received at least one dose of the vaccine.

A total of 2,832,044 adolescents aged 12 to 17 have been fully vaccinated, accounting for 91 percent of the population, while 2,932,526 have received at least one dose of the vaccine, accounting for 94.2 percent.

Yesterday, a total of 63,739 vaccine doses were provided, including 15,935 first doses, 1,766 second doses, and 46,038 booster doses, for a total of 67,797,494 vaccine doses administered under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).

Meanwhile, 77 deaths due to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, according to the Health Ministry’s GitHub portal, with Johor accounting for 13 cases, Kedah and Selangor for 12 cases each, and Terengganu and Kelantan for six cases each.

Five cases each were reported in Negri Sembilan and Sabah, followed by four cases each in Melaka and Perak, three cases each in Pahang and Putrajaya, and two cases each in Penang and Kuala Lumpur.
