All Maybank DuitNow transfers require Secure2u verification, which became obligatory on November 8th.

28/10/2022

Starting from 8 Nov, all Maybank DuitNow transfers require Secure2u verification.

Please be aware that Secure2u is obliged to verify any DuitNow transfers made through Maybank.

According to a Maybank message, all DuitNow transfers and adding new Favourites will require MAE’s Secure2u verification beginning November 8, 2022.

This also means that users will no longer be able to validate these transactions by SMS TAC. This is in keeping with the National Bank’s strategy to combat financial crime and is part of the bank’s efforts to improve financial security.

If you haven’t activated Secure2u in MAE APP, open it, type Secure2u, and then click Activate Now. You will now receive a set of SMS OTP; enter the 6-digit SMS OTP and then the ID number, and you are finished.

It should be noted, however, that when activating Secure2u on the MAE APP or on a new device, it takes 12 hours to successfully activate Secure2u.
