After a massive downpour, there are around 200 flood evacuees in Batu Pahat.
Today, 204 flood victims in total were sent to Sekolah SMK Seri Gading’s temporary relief centre.
According to the Batu Pahat Civil Defense Force, as of 8am, this total increased from the 163 victims from 38 families as of 8pm yesterday (APM).
Heavy rain that fell for several hours and yesterday’s high tide are to blame for the flooded situation here.
The settlements in question are currently located in the Simpang Kanan and Parit Raja subdistricts of the Sri Gading legislative district. The areas involved are Taman Sri Panchor, Kampung Sengkuang, Kampung Baru Sri Gading, Seri Gading town and Kampug Seri Tanjung.
It has been stated that the weather is good and clear today.
