The countrywide transmission cable failure was the reason of the blackouts.

The power outage that impacted various areas of peninsular Malaysia at around midday today has been rectified by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB).

In a statement, it claimed that the outage affected a 2.2 GW national transmission line, which is in charge of 10% of the entire national power supply.

The national power corporation reported that while repairs are still being made, several locations beyond the Klang Valley now have electricity.

Petaling Jaya, Cheras, Bangi, Bayan Lepas, Seberang Jaya, Panchor, and Bandar Indera Mahkota are a few of the locations involved. With the exception of the Klang Valley, supply was entirely restored to all impacted districts in 20 to 40 minutes.

The incident’s root cause is being investigated, and steps are being taken to restore supplies.

A short time later, TNB was able to pinpoint the Main Entrance Substation (PMU) Yong Peng Utara in Yong Peng, Johor as the equipment malfunction that had caused the nationwide power outage.

Due to the persistent efforts of its technical team, TNB reported that the majority of the impacted areas had their electricity successfully restored in stages as early as 20 minutes after the disruption.

It stated that the problem was completely fixed at 3:02 PM today.

The courthouse, retail malls, rail services, and traffic signals were among the Klang Valley locations that reportedly had power outages earlier today, according to information obtained by Malay Mail.

There are at least 11 places, including Subang, Sunway, Petaling Jaya, Cheras, Hulu Langat, Mont Kiara, Setiawangsa, Jelatek, Setapak, Kajang, and Kepong, are experiencing blackouts.
