The Education Ministry is looking into the problem of teachers serving as dormitory wardens.

The Education Ministry (MoE) is looking at how to improve the long-standing issue of teachers serving as hostel wardens, including enhancing the allowance, according to Minister Datuk Radzi Jidin.

They are aware that hostel wardens are concerned about the ministry’s attitude, and as he previously stated, they will examine the situation holistically. They want to tackle this issue once and for all, but there are some limits they are working to address.

They understand that being named wardens will make them worse off in terms of allowance, thus it is better for them not to be wardens. This is the problem they’re attempting to solve.

Some parties have petitioned the Ministry of Education to examine the allowance of hostel wardens, which is supposedly too low, at RM240 per month, and is thought insufficient for the 24-hour daily duty required.

So there are technical issues they need to discuss with the central agency, and they are working to resolve them; however, it will take some time.

Over 25,000 people attended the Open Day and Aidilfitri event, according to Radzi.

They’ve chosen a novel approach to Syawal celebrations; instead of holding an open house, they’ve combined this get-together with an open day to show off what the ministry has to offer and to let Malaysians to provide input on education in the country.
