Our country will enter the southwest monsoon season on May 14.

The southwest monsoon season will begin on May 14 in Malaysia!

Malaysia will start the southwest monsoon season on May 14, according to a statement released by the Malaysian Meteorological Department. The southwest monsoon season will run until mid-September 2022, according to forecasts.

Because the wind direction is fixed from the southwest during the southwest monsoon season, the air humidity may be quite low and the airflow will be generally stable. This may result in fewer gloomy and wet days, as well as fewer thunderstorms and heavy rain. There could be more dry days ahead.

Nonetheless, heavy winds and thunderstorms will be present in the morning around the peninsula’s west coast and in northern Sabah, as is typical of the Squall Line.

The months of July to September are always hot and dry. There will be a haze throughout these months, based on prior years’ experiences. However, sometimes the smog is only mild, and after a few years, it becomes so terrible that schools must close.

In any event, everyone should drink more water and limit outside activity during this time. The Meteorology Department is urging everyone to conserve water and avoid public burning.
