EPF would begin processing RM10,000 special withdrawals tomorrow instead of April 20.

The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) will begin disbursing payments for the exceptional RM10,000 withdrawal tomorrow (April 18), rather than on April 20, as anticipated, according to Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz.

He claimed that he had received several comments on social media from Malaysians pleading with him to speed up the payout of the special EPF withdrawals.

The voices have been heard by him. He is glad to announce that, following discussions with EPF, the payments of the exceptional withdrawal will be credited gradually beginning April 18 instead of April 20, as previously indicated.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said on March 16 that Malaysians will be able to take a RM10,000 special withdrawal from their EPF retirement funds.

Ismail Sabri stated that the government had heard and examined all requests for withdrawals from EPF savings commencing April 1st.

EPF stated yesterday that as of 8 p.m. on April 14, it has received 5.3 million applications totaling RM40.1 billion under the Special Withdrawal facility.

On April 30, 2022, the Special Withdrawal facility will close.
