Sporadic Covid-19 cases are on the rise in Sabah, according to the state minister.
According to state Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Masidi Manjun, sporadic incidences of Covid-19 infections continue to rise in Sabah, with 71.18 percent of 2,717 new positive cases detected today from the category.
The percentage of symptomatic cases from spontaneous infection was the highest ever documented in Sabah, according to Masidi, who is also the state’s spokeswoman on Covid-19-related events.
According to Masidi, a total of 23 of Sabah’s 27 districts showed a similar tendency, with sporadic instances accounting for the majority of cases in those districts.
As a precautionary measure against the potential of the Covid-19 virus, we continue to urge the people of Sabah to follow all normal operating protocols at all times. The total number of new Covid-19 positive cases in Sabah has risen to 346,665 today, with seven deaths reported, including two instances each in Kota Belud and Tenom, and one case each in Kota Kinabalu, Kinabatangan, and Sipitang
He also claimed that 3,985 Covid-19 patients in Sabah have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, quarantine and low-risk treatment centres, bringing the total number of patients cured to 301,911, with 1,543 still undergoing treatment.
