Recently, Netflix’s new drama “Lupin” has once again set a high record, with more than 70 million views in 28 days , breaking the record of “The Queen’s Gambit” and being hailed as Netflix’s must-see drama in 2021! Let’s take a look at 3 of the “Lupin” highlights, and hurry up to catch up this drama during this holiday!

1. Plot Introduction
I believe that those who like to watch mystery/crime dramas are quite familiar with the detective Sherlock Holmes. The classic drama “Sherlocks” produced by the BBC has aroused a high degree of discussion, whether it is about the crime or the relationship between Holmes and Watson .  The status of this classic mystery novel “Arsene Lupin” has been hailed as a work on par with “Holmes”.

The series is adapted from a fictional character written by the French writer Maurice Leblanc. Arsene Lupin is a famous thief, but he privately robs the rich and helps the poor, and engages in detective work with his ingenuity. However, Netflix only uses this character as a blueprint to tell the story of the main lead, Assane Diop’s father who was being framed and committed suicide. In order to avenge his father and seek for justice, he embarked on a thrilling and adventurous journey.

The male protagonist has read the story of “Lupin the gentlemen thief” since he was a child, he imitated Lupin’s attack on the rich or privileged figures, to achieve the goal of robbing the rich and helping the poor. When investigating the cause of his father’s death, stealing jewels or being tracked by the police, he used his excellent reasoning ability and various tricks to break through a period of obstacles, and the tension and suspense atmosphere was quite exciting.

2. Actor Omar Sy
The French actor Omar Sy, who plays the leading actor, also received much attention from the audience. He won the French Caesars Film Award for the film “The Intouchables”, and he also starred in “Jurassic World” and “X-Men: Days of Future Past”. Omar Sy is 190cm tall, has a warm smile and bright eyes, and is quite attractive in the drama series.
3. Excellent Ratings
Since the launch of “Lupin”, it has accumulated more than 70 million views. The American film review website “Rotten Tomatoes” has given a rating of 96 points, and has also scored nearly 8 points at “IMDb”. The series is only 5 episodes short, and it is currently ranked No. 5 on the Malaysian Netflix rankings. If you haven’t watched it yet, you can start binge-watching it on Netflix!
