Apple has released iOS 15.4 Beta with a new “Face ID Unlock with Mask” feature, so you can finally unlock your iPhone with a mask on!
The global epidemic situation is still serious, and Face ID feature is very inconvenient to use because everyone wears a mask when traveling. Previously, Apple introduced the feature of unlocking iPhone with Apple Watch, which allows you to unlock iPhone with Apple Watch while wearing a mask.
But for users without an Apple Watch, the feature is still not practical enough.
Now, in the iOS 15.4 beta, Apple has finally introduced mask face unlocking.
After updating to iOS 15.4 beta, the bootloader will remind users if they need to wear a mask to use their Face ID. Once users choose to use it, they will be guided to make a facial entry, which focuses on entering some details around the eyes.
In addition, a “Wear Mask with Face ID” switch will be added to the “Face ID and Password” settings. To use this feature, just turn on the switch for this feature.
To make the recognition more accurate, the feature can also record the appearance of the user wearing glasses, but sunglasses are not included in the recognition. After testing, the system recognizes the mask very quickly and easily when worn.
