A Malaysian couple choose to phone 999 for help after discovering a patient who appeared to be walking on the road. They unexpectedly engaged in a highly ridiculous discussion process. In response to their calls for help, police just stated, “It’s time to break the fast”!
A guy named Daniel stated that he and his girlfriend discovered a man in downtown Kuala Lumpur at around 7:00 pm on 3 April who was thought to be missing. The other party was at that moment walking barefoot on the busy road while dressed in white.
He sensed that the man had a problem and thought that he might be a patient at the hospital, so he instantly called the 999 emergency hotline for help. He decided to use English because he didn’t speak Malay well, but the operator cut him off after hearing him speak!
He called 999 again, this time requesting the help of his girlfriend, who speaks Malay better. The other party stated that he didn’t care much about it and even got angry without cause after the girlfriend described what happened and the location of the incident to the operator.
They made the decision to wait 30 minutes before phoning the police again after they had eaten. Daniel tried to communicate with the man while he waited but realized that he was crippled and could not hear or speak. When they called 999 again 30 minutes later, the other party stated in a tone that was quite uneasy: “We will investigate after finishing fasting, you go back!”
