Attention! Touch ‘n Go eWallet will levy a 1% overseas transaction conversion fee starting April 25, 2024
According to a message from Touch ‘n Go eWallet, users will be required to pay a 1% Overseas Transaction Conversion Fee when using Touch ‘n Go eWallet’s cross-border QR payment function overseas. The 1% Overseas Transaction Conversion Fee has already been applied to Touch ‘n Go eWallet.)
The 1% Overseas Transaction Conversion Fee is already included in the daily conversion rate, so users already pay this 1% conversion fee when making cross-border payments. Users will not be charged an additional 1% conversion fee.
Touch ‘n Go eWallet notes that cross-border payments have grown significantly over the past 12 months, with users now able to use Touch ‘n Go eWallet’s cross-border scanner payments in 40 countries around the world.
Previously, Touch ‘n Go eWallet was responsible for its own cross-border exchange rate conversion fees, but in order to make this cross-border code-sweeping payment feature sustainable, Touch ‘n Go eWallet has opted to introduce a 1% overseas transaction conversion fee from April 25, 2024 onwards.
