Chris Russell, a British running-loving man who ran from Mae Sai district, Chiang Rai province, to Bedong district, Yala province, in 50 days to raise funds for orphans and underprivileged schools in Thailand, has now reached his destination and raised about £3,962 (about RM23,804) for charity.
The run, which lasts 50 days, is in the name of running 2,100 kilometers in Thailand to raise funds to help orphans and underprivileged schools in the country, and has already raised more than 3,962 pounds sterling. On February 29th, Russell has entered Bedong district in Yala province.
Russell said that along the way there are people for him to cheer, every evening where to run where to stop to rest, in the evening before arriving in Bedong County, stayed in Aiyerweng Hill Resort, the owner of the resort to provide free lodging, so that he really appreciate the kindness of the Thai people.
Returning to Bangkok after a tour of Malaysia
It is reported that Russell had told his British friends that he wanted to run all over Thailand, and then started running on January 10 from Mae Sai district of Chiang Rai province, which is the northernmost point of Thailand bordering Myanmar, and ended at Bedong district of Yala province, the southernmost point of Thailand, with a total mileage of more than 2,100 kilometers, which is planned to be completed in 50 days. Upon arrival in Bedong district, the tour will continue to Malaysia before returning to Bangkok from Malaysia’s airport.
Russell concluded by saying that the run in Thailand is to raise some money to help the children in Thailand and all the money raised will be donated to schools and orphanages in Thailand, so he has posted on his personal website https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/runacrossthailand
He posted information about raising funds for orphans and poor schools in Thailand, and not only did he get donations from his friends in the UK, but there were also many kind Thai people who donated along the way. He thinks this activity is very meaningful, not only can he raise funds for Thai orphans and poor schools, but he can also see the beautiful scenery along the way.
