If a STR assistance recipient unfortunately passes away in 2023, his family members can receive the RM1,000 pension before January 31, 2024.
According to information from the Land Revenue Department (LHDN), all family members of STR assistance recipients who unfortunately pass away in 2023 can receive a death benefit (Skim Khairat Kematian) of RM1,000 from the government, or SKK for short.
STR assistance recipients must die between January 1 and December 31, 2023, and their family members can go to the National Savings Bank (BSN) to receive the death benefit before January 31, 2024.
Family members must bring the original or copy of the death certificate issued by the National Registration Department (JPN), as well as documents that can prove the relationship between the deceased and the family members, such as birth certificates and marriage certificates. Family members must also bring their own MyKads with them.
Notice! Death benefits are only available to family groups with STR assistance, single parents with custody of children, widows or widowers, and single senior citizens. Dependents receiving death benefits must be spouse, mother, father, children, brothers and sisters.
