Fuziah Salleh, the deputy minister of domestic trade and cost of living, stated today that Malaysians must make reasoned decisions devoid of bias.
In response to the emotional outcry over the Gaza conflict and the recent wave of boycotts targeting companies allegedly connected to Israel, she suggested that Malaysians consider other avenues for showing their support for the Palestinian people, such as donating to worthy non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
“I think people should make decisions based on facts rather than just feelings. Even though we may have strong feelings regarding Gaza, there are other ways we can show our support, like by giving money to reputable NGOs.
“Perhaps they can channel their sadness and solidarity in that way,” she said during a press conference after launching the Buy Malaysian Goods Campaign here, today.
She further emphasised that at the end of the day, it is a personal choice and a matter of individual rights.
