According to a report by Sin Chew Daily, two toll stations may be built in Genting Mid-Levels, and the toll may range from RM2.50 to RM3.50. Tolls may be used to repair roads and repair landslide areas.
It is understood that the two toll stations to be built may be the section from Batang Kali to Genting, and the section from the foot of Genting Mountain to Genting. As long as vehicles go up the mountain, they need to pay tolls, but when going down the mountain, they do not need to pay tolls.
At present, this consumption has not been officially confirmed by Genting, but some merchants in Genting have revealed that they attended relevant meetings last month to collect tolls levied by Genting.
It is generally expected that if the rumors of Genting levying tolls are true, this measure will be implemented from June 2024, and vehicles driving on Genting will need to pay tolls thereafter.
