TM finally announced the reduction of unifi broadband charges! Existing users can get free network speed upgrades, and new users can sign up for unifi broadband services at a lower price.
If you are an existing Unifi user, you will get a free network speed upgrade while maintaining your existing monthly fee. The original 30Mbps network speed will be upgraded to 100Mbps, the original 100Mbps network speed will be upgraded to 300Mbps, the original 300Mbps network speed will be upgraded to 500Mbps, the original 500Mbps network speed will be upgraded to 800Mbps, the original 800Mbps network speed will be upgraded. Will be upgraded to 1Gbps.
TM will automatically upgrade the network speed for existing users, and users do not need to make any manual applications. This network speed upgrade will not affect the user’s existing contract, that is, there is no need to re-sign for another 24 months, but the existing contract will be extended.
After completing the network speed increase, users will receive a notification from TM. Since the system is upgraded in stages, different users will receive network speed upgrades at different times. Even after users receive a notification that the network speed has been upgraded, they may find that the existing plan is still maintained after logging into the MyUnifi APP. Users are advised to remain patient.
After receiving the notification, you find that the network speed has not improved significantly. You can try restarting the router and then perform a network speed test to see if you are already enjoying higher network speeds.
If you are an existing user and you don’t want to upgrade your internet speed, you want to sign up for a package at a lower price. You can also choose to downgrade your internet speed, but this only applies to users who are not on contract. If you are still on a 24-month contract, you will be charged a penalty when your internet speed is reduced.
New users can sign up for a unifi broadband package at a new price. Unifi 100Mbps originally cost RM129 per month, but now it is reduced to only RM99 per month. As for unifi 300Mbps, it has also been reduced from RM149 to RM139. Unifi 500Mbps has also been reduced from RM209 to RM159.
unifi also launches 1Gbps and 2Gbps network services separately, which means there is no need to subscribe to unifiTV at the same time. The fees for these two packages are RM289 and RM319 respectively.
For users who have signed up for the 100Mbps plan now, they will be able to enjoy 300Mbps speed after completing the network speed upgrade, but the monthly fee will remain at RM129. If compared with the new monthly fee of RM139 for the 300Mbps package, it is still RM10 cheaper for existing users.
To put it simply, existing users will receive network speed upgrades, while new users can sign up for unifi at the new price.
