A woman in Illinois, United States, had an uncomfortable event while using a treadmill at the gym. Alisa, the woman, tripped on the treadmill because her shoelaces were unfastened. She grasped the machine’s handrail in an attempt to restore her balance, but the continuously running treadmill ended up dragging down her pants, prompting her to let go in horror.
Alisa, 26, from Illinois, went to the gym last month for a treadmill run, according to the Daily Mail. Unfortunately, she fell unexpectedly, and to make matters worse, the incident was recorded on surveillance cameras.
Alisa is seen wearing a peach-pink sports bra and black leggings in the surveillance footage. She loses her footing while running and falls. Her pants become trapped in the treadmill and slide down, exposing her buttocks and her underwear as she struggles to pull herself up by holding the handrail. She releases go and rolls off the treadmill in embarrassment, quickly rising up to pull her trousers back on.
Concerned bystanders came over to check on her, but she escaped with minor injuries. Alisa later shared the video on Instagram, apologizing for the awkwardness of the situation.
Alisa recalled that she had adjusted the treadmill speed to level 10, which is considered “a ridiculously fast pace.” She had no idea she’d trip and fall. She tried to stand up several times but failed until her pants fell off, at which point she gave up.
She went back to view the CCTV film to figure out why she fell and realized that her shoelaces had become untied during the process.
“I had several injuries, including scrapes on my face, lips, knees, and calf.” Fortunately, the gym wasn’t that full that day, so my embarrassing event was not witnessed by too many people,” Alisa explained.
Many internet users thanked her for her “sacrifice” in providing comedic entertainment, and they couldn’t help but laugh after watching the video.
However, Alisa admitted that the incident left her traumatized, and she’s now hesitant to use a treadmill in the short term.
“In my early teens, I actually fell on a treadmill and injured my chin, so now I really dare not use a treadmill anymore,” she added.
