20/04/2023

MoonBin, a member of the six-member boy group ASTRO, was discovered dead in his house at 8:10 p.m. on the 19th, according to reports from the Korean entertainment business. The revelation has sent shockwaves across the internet, and his agency, Fantagio, has issued a statement in response to the tragedy.

According to Korean media, MoonBin’s agent was the first to learn about his death. When the agent saw him unresponsive, he immediately informed the hospital but attempts to revive him were futile. The Gangnam Police Department in Seoul has revealed that no evidence of foul play was found at the scene, prompting detectives to provisionally infer that MoonBin’s death was the result of suicide.

Following the devastating news of MoonBin’s death, his agency, Fantagio, made a lengthy statement on their Instagram account to confirm the tragic news. ASTRO members, Fantagio’s colleagues, entertainers, and staff issued a statement expressing deep grief and condolences, as well as requesting privacy and abstaining from spreading unverified rumors or harmful reports. Respecting the desires of the surviving relatives, the funeral will be held quietly, with only family members and company colleagues in attendance. MoonBin’s memorial has been set up at Asan Hospital in Seoul, and his funeral is slated for the 22nd. Moon SuA, MoonBin’s younger sister and a member of the girl group Idol, was also mentioned on the funeral notice board, generating attention owing to their previous on-stage collaboration. Fans and colleagues alike have expressed their regret and amazement at their parting.

MoonBin was apparently not feeling well during a previous live broadcast with his ASTRO members. Cha Eunwoo, another member of the group who is currently in the United States, has been discovered to have returned to Korea hastily following the news of MoonBin’s death.

MoonBin has been in the entertainment industry since he was a youngster, with notable appearances including acting in the music video for TVXQ’s “Balloons” in 2006 and playing So Yi Jeong as a child in the Korean drama “Boys Over Flowers” in 2009. The unexpected news of his death has startled many people and is profoundly unfortunate. During this terrible time, his family, friends, teammates, and fans hoped to find comfort and serenity.
