There are five more long weekend holidays in 2023.
When a public holiday falls on a Friday or Monday, plus two weekends and Sundays, this will result in three consecutive days of vacation. When a public holiday falls on a Sunday, then a day off will be given on Monday, which will also form a 3-day holiday.
According to the Malaysian Holidays Act, a public holiday falling on a Saturday is not entitled to compensatory leave, however, a public holiday falling on a Sunday is entitled to compensatory leave on Monday (not applicable to Johor, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu).
