The Hyundai car brand has presented its “e-Corner” wheel steering technology at CES, according to foreign media. In fact, this e-Corner technology is not the first time Hyundai’s original factory showed it, but as early as 2021, it has been demonstrated. At that time, Hyundai Mobis, a subsidiary of the Hyundai Group responsible for the development of new technologies, demonstrated this technology on the then M.Vision Pop and M.Vision 2Go concept cars, but this time the original manufacturer is demonstrating this technology on the Ioniq 5, a pure electric car that has already been marketed for mass production.
In fact, concept cars have always been used as a way for automotive companies and brands to showcase the company’s future design concepts and directions to the public, so many concept cars are displayed with sky-high designs and concepts. However, people don’t care too much every time they see a concept car because they are not sure if these concept cars will actually be manufactured in the end.
This time, the Hyundai original manufacturer has equipped this technology on the actual demonstration car, the pure electric car Ioniq 5, which is already in mass production, and its significance is not the same as the first public display in 2021, which also proves to a certain extent that this technology has begun to mature and is one step closer to future mass production.
Hyundai recently released the official video at CES, which shows the Ioniq 5 equipped with “e-Corner” technology, which integrates electric motors, suspension, brakes and steering by wire at each of the four corners, allowing each tire to rotate 90 degrees outward independently, and to perform functions such as crab driving, crab driving, crab driving and crab driving.
