Recently, a Malaysian netizen anonymously uploaded a post about an intern asking for a salary on the Facebook page “Northern University Fun Share”, and the picture attached to it caused a firestorm all over the internet!
The photo is believed to be from the head of a company answering an intern’s question. One oddball company made it clear that they don’t pay interns and that internships are for them to learn and grow, and that interns should pay (mentoring fees) back to the company for mentoring them!
In addition, it was pointed out that some companies are willing to pay interns because they (the other party) only need cheap labor and do not really pass on skills and knowledge to the interns.
