WhatsApp is testing the View-Once function for text messages.
When sending a text message, users can choose to let the other party view it only once as WhatsApp is testing the View-Once function.
According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp intends to expand the View-Once function from pictures to text messages in the future, which means that users will be able to use the View-Once function not only when sending pictures but also when sending text messages.
The View-Once function specifies that the recipient can only view the information once after it has been opened. When the recipient opens the information, it is rendered unusable, and the recipient will not be able to view the information for the second time.
Currently, when sending pictures, users can enable the View-Once function by clicking the 1 button in the lower right corner. If the View-Once function is extended to text data, it is assumed that the operation method is the same as for images. Users can enable the View-Once function by clicking the 1 button.
The View-Once function is extremely useful, especially when sending sensitive or private information. Because View-Once pictures are not saved to the phone, the View-Once function can also save phone memory.
