18 and 19 Nov are assigned as special holidays.
Excellent news! The caretaker Prime Minister declared special national holidays on November 18 and 19.
The eve of GE15 and day of GE15 will be listed as special national holidays, according to a message issued by caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, which means that November 18 and 19 are both public holidays.
Ismail Sabri pointed out that while many people have requested that November 18 (Friday) be designated as a special holiday, many private-sector employees must still report to work on November 19. As a result, the caretaker government decided to declare November 18th and 19th special holidays.
In addition, 30 highways have announced that they will waive tolls on November 18 and 19 to encourage people to vote. The restriction is in effect from 12:01 a.m. on November 18 to 11:59 p.m. on November 19. The toll exemption applies to all private cars classified as Class 1 vehicles.
Not only that, but the November payday for civil servants will be moved up to November 17, allowing civil servants to receive their salaries on that date. Pensions for civil servants will be paid in advance until November 14.
