The Chinese New Year is 100 days away!
New Year’s Eve falls on January 21 and the first day of the Chinese New Year falls on January 22, which means there are 100 days until Chinese New Year. Everyone can start preparing their New Year clothes.
According to the information released by the Ministry of Education, primary and secondary schools in China will enjoy at least 5 days of school holidays in 2023 for the Lunar New Year. If schools take their own holidays, they can enjoy more days.
The Ministry of Education has listed January 20 and 24 as special holidays, with January 24 being a special school holiday within the states of Johor, Terengganu, Kedah and Kelantan, while January 20 is a special school holiday for other state territories. If we add in the weekend and Sunday, schools will be able to enjoy the Lunar New Year school holiday from January 20 to January 24. This also means that schools will open on the fourth day of the year.
In the next 10 years, the earliest Lunar New Year will be 2023, which falls on January 22. The latest Lunar New Year falls in 2026, which is February 17.
