Avoid swimming at the beach or on islands along the West Malaysia Peninsula because high tides will occur there frequently.

09/10/2022

Many West Malaysia Peninsula areas will experience strong tides.

Notice! People are advised to exercise caution and refrain from travelling to the seaside or islands to enjoy the water during high tides, which will affect several of the West Malaysia Peninsula’s coasts.

A major high tide is expected in Kuala Muda, Perak, Port Klang, Selangor, Johor Batu Batu, and Pontian, according to information released by the National Natural Disaster Management Agency (NADMA).

Lots of high tides will occur in these places between October 8 (Saturday) and October 13 (Thursday), 2022.

The main gravitational tidal phenomena that causes high tide is the creation of a line between the moon and the sun. As a result, it is anticipated that there may be some regions of tidal overflow, which could potentially cause flooding in low-lying coastal districts.

From October 9 to October 12, there will be a lot of high tides in Port Klang, the Selangor State Minister also noted. On October 9, a tide of 5.4 metres will come in at 5:37 a.m.; on October 10, a tide of 5.5 metres will come in at 6:13 a.m.; and on October 11, a tide of 5.5 metres will come in at 6:45 a.m. On the 12th, at 7:13 in the morning, a tide of 5.4 metres will be in effect.
