JBPM disputes Gunung Pulai water surge occurrence.
The Johor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) has refuted the claims made in a widely shared social media video that a water surge incident occurred on Gunung Pulai, close to Kulai.
According to its acting director Mohd Rizal Buang, the department monitored the area around Gunung Pulai at 10:33 a.m. today and discovered no such accidents or flooding.
They want to urge people not to disseminate any ideas, images, or even old films that might worry the neighbourhood. They advise the people to seek out official confirmation and dial 999 in case of an emergency.
An earlier 53-second Facebook video that purported to show a water surge incident on the mountain went viral.
In the meantime, Mohd Rizal said that the state JBPM had instructed all fire stations to keep an eye on and patrol flood hotspot regions in response to the Meteorological Department’s continuous rain warning.
