According to the Prime Minister, the third phase of BKM grant will be disbursed from September 20 to 27.
Beneficiaries will receive up to RM900 for BKM in September and up to RM2350 for successful appeals. In total, over 80,000 people have been successful in their appeals.
The third phase of the BKM grant will cost RM2.2 billion, while the fourth phase is expected to cost RM2.1 billion and will be disbursed in December.
BKM is a government assistance scheme that aims to alleviate the burden of the low-income group. Families with a monthly income of up to RM5,000 and single persons with a monthly income of up to RM2,500 are eligible for the BKM.
Phase III BKM Assistance Payment Amount (payable from 20th September)
1. Households with a monthly income not exceeding RM2500 (aged 59 or below)
No children: RM200
1 or 2 children: RM300
3 children or above: RM400
2. Households with monthly income of RM2501 – RM5000 (59 years old or below)
No children: RM100
1 or 2 children: RM100
3 children or more: RM100
3. Households earning up to RM2500 per month (60 years or above)
No children: RM500
1 or 2 children: RM600
3 children or above: RM700
4. Households with a monthly income of RM2501-RM5000 (aged 60 years or above)
No children: RM400
1 or 2 children: RM400
3 children or more: RM400
5. Households earning up to RM2500 per month (single parent families with children)
1 or 2 children: RM800
3 children or more: RM900
6. Households earning RM2501-RM5000 per month (single parent families with children)
1 or 2 children: RM600
3 children or more: RM600
7. Widowed/single elderly with monthly income not exceeding RM5000
Age 60 years or above: RM150
8. Single person with monthly income not exceeding RM2500
Age 21 or above: RM150
