According to Maybank, users will only be able to activate the Secure2u service via MAE APP and will no longer be able to activate Secure2u from M2U MY APP, effective from 1 October 2022.
In addition, it will take 12 hours for users to activate the Secure2u service from 8 October 2022 onwards from other devices before it is successfully activated. This is to ensure that users have sufficient time to report and take recovery measures in the event of account theft.
If you have already activated Secure2u in the M2U MY APP, then you can use it as normal without any disruptions. If you activate Secure2u in the MAE APP, you will only receive Secure2u notifications in the MAE APP and not in the M2U MY APP.
Maybank encourages users to download the MAE APP via the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or Huawei AppGallery.
To activate Secure2u in the MAE APP
Step 1: Open the MAE APP and click on More.
Step 2: Go to Settings.
Step 3: Click and login to Maybank2u.
Step 4: Open the Secure2u function and select Activate Now.
Step 5: Confirm your mobile phone number and enter the OTP you have received.
Step 6: Enter the ID number and confirm the device name.
Step 7: Done.
