According to the information issued by Bursa Malaysia, as at 5 September 2022, a total of 26 companies are listed on the PN17 list and 1 company is listed on the GN3 list.
Bursa specifies that any company that violates certain rules and regulations will be listed as PN17 or GN3.
PN17 stands for Practice Note 17/2005 and GN3 stands for Guidance Note 3. Main Market companies in financial difficulty or in breach of certain rules will be classified as PN17, while Growth Enterprise Market companies in financial difficulty or in breach of certain rules will be classified as GN3.
A listed company will be placed on the PN17 or GN3 list when it has breached the following rules
1. the total equity of the company is less than RM40 million and less than 25% of the issued share capital of the company.
2. More than 50% of the total assets of the company will be taken over by a person other than the company, or wound up.
3. An auditor has an Adverse Opinion or a Disclaimers Opinion on the accounts of the company.
4. The company is unable to pay its debts.
5. The company has no core business.
