The Meteorological Department predicts flooding in November in several states of the peninsula, and the government and relevant agencies are already on the move!
According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department, low-lying areas of several states in the peninsula are likely to be flooded in November. The Meteorological Department has also released an emergency backpack guide to prepare for natural disasters.
In the guide, the Meteorological Agency recommends that people living in high-risk areas have 10 items in their emergency backpacks to be prepared in case of a serious flooding outbreak.
The 10 items are clothing, shoes and blankets, whistle, money, flashlight and batteries, durable food, portable radio, emergency medical kit, fresh water, cell phone and rechargeable battery, as well as important documents such as newspaper birth certificate and ID card.
The country will enter the Northeast monsoon season at the end of October every year, when the amount of rainfall will increase significantly. In December last year, there was a serious flooding in the Seremban area and many people were unable to evacuate in time, causing serious financial losses.
