The iPhone 14 series is coming on strong, and while everyone is paying less attention to the iPhone 12, fans who are still using the iPhone 12 series need to pay attention!
According to foreign media reports, the iPhone 12 series has a few devices with faulty earpiece module parts, or lead to no sound when calling, so Apple announced in August 2021 for the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro call repair program to provide users with free repair, has been quietly updated in Apple’s official website, the effective warranty period, extended by 1 year. The validity period is 3 years (from the date of first retail sale of the device).
From the information released by Apple’s website, it seems that there are a few iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro earpiece modules that may have failed components, which may lead to no sound problems on the device, and the affected devices are manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021.
It is reported that if the user’s iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro does not make a sound from the microphone when making or receiving a call, it may qualify for Apple’s repair and can be repaired for free. It’s worth noting that iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max models are not included in this call repair program, and this global Apple program will not extend the standard warranty coverage for iPhone 12 or iPhone 12 Pro.
Apple reminds iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro owners to seek an Apple Authorized Repair Center or schedule an appointment with an Apple Retail Store to have their iPhone repaired and to back up their iPhone to iCloud or a computer before repair. If the phone has any damage that would affect this repair, such as a cracked screen, the issue must be resolved before receiving a repair under this program, or in some cases, additional repair costs may apply.
