Currently, the official rest day in Johor is Friday and Saturday, which means that Sunday is a working day in Johor. This has caused a lot of inconvenience, not only for businesses who have difficulties in conducting government business, but also for families with children in school who face different rest days.
Many parents who work in the private sector have their week off on a Sunday, while schools in Johor have to attend on a Sunday. This situation makes it impossible for parents to spend their holidays with their children.
It is reported that the Johor government plans to implement a policy of working four and a half days and taking two and a half days off per week. The two and a half days in question is half a day on Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday.
If Johor successfully implements the two-and-a-half day policy, it is believed that other states will follow suit.
