Dr. Chen Man Hin, the founder of the DAP, passes away
Dr. Chen Man Hin, the founder chairman and a member of DAP, reportedly passed away this morning in Seremban.
Dr. Chen, 97, passed away today, according to the party’s current chairman Lim Guan Eng, who made the announcement on his Facebook page.
Dr. Chen presided over the DAP from 1966 to 1999. Before starting his own general practise, he practised medicine in Singapore and Seremban.
Dr. Chen was described by DAP as a “tireless warrior for justice and equality” in a statement lamenting his passing. Dr. Chen held the positions of Rahang assemblyman from 1965 to 1969, Seremban Timor MP from 1969 to 1974, and Seremban MP from 1974 to 1982.
He was chosen to be DAP’s life adviser after stepping down from active politics, a position he retained up until his death.
