Malaysian citizens who have reached the age of 18 are being urged to check their voter data as the national election may fall three months later.

According to the news issued by the Malaysian Electoral Commission (SPR), the additional electoral roll for the period up to July 2022 has been gazetted and will be available for public inspection from August 16 to September 14, 2022.

The additional electoral roll covers 40,989 people over the age of 18 who have just been automatically registered as voters in July. The additional electoral roll also covers 13,481 people who have changed constituencies and 4,116 people who have changed their voting status or group.

The electoral roll is available to the public through five channels, namely the EC’s official website https://www.spr.gov.my and https://mysprsemak.spr.gov.my or http://ppn.spr.gov.my. It is also available through https://myspr.spr.gov.my Online application, MySPR Semak mobile application, or by calling the EAC hotline at 03-8892 7018.

If people find that their names are not included in the electoral roll, they can submit their fight through https://myspr.spr.gov.my by filling out Form C.

It is generally expected that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri may announce the dissolution of Parliament and hold a national election in November this year.
