According to information released by Toyota Motor Thailand, the all-new generation of Toyota Vios will make its world debut on August 9, 2022.
According to the teaser from Toyota Motor Thailand, the new generation Vios will feature the latest exterior and interior design of the family, with 3D blacked-out rear lights and double-barred rear lights. The headlights will have flat LED lights. The interior will feature the most popular standing suspension screen.
According to media reports, the new generation Vios, codenamed D29A, will feature a DNGA chassis design from Daihatsu. Vios, known as the Yaris Ativ in Thailand, has always been powered by a 1.2L four-cylinder self-igniting intake engine in Thailand.
It is not yet clear when the new Vios will be introduced by UMW Toyota in Malaysia, or what engine will be used in the new generation of Vios to be sold in Malaysia. It is expected that UMW Toyota will not introduce the new generation of Vios until 2023 at the earliest.
