Malaysian Meteorological Department (MMD) has issued a warning that thunderstorms will continue to occur in several parts of the country until 27 July 2022. Previously, the Meteorological Department only issued a thunderstorm warning until 25 July.
With the analysis of the Malaysian Weather Research and Forecasting Model (MET-WRF), European Centre for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (ECMWF) and Global Forecasting System (GFS) models, the country will face weak winds from all directions, which will lead to thunderstorms in the country until 27 July.
Areas affected include the west coast of the peninsula, Sarawak and western Sabah, where thunderstorm clouds and subsequent thunderstorms will occur in the afternoon and evening.
Public is urged to drive carefully during thunderstorms and avoid driving on roads with frequent waterlogging to avoid disruption to their journeys.
