An anti-stalking bill will be introduced by 2022.
According to Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Parliament and Law), the bill pertaining to the crime of stalking is anticipated to be presented to the Dewan Rakyat this year.
The Anti-Stalking Bill, according to her, is now being finalized at the Attorney General’s Chamber and is anticipated to shield victims, particularly women, from harassment in both offline and online settings.
The conference also reached three resolutions involving the leadership, legal, and socioeconomic clusters, according to Women, Family, and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rina Harun. She added that the resolutions would be presented to the government in order to improve policies and implementation, including the 2023 Budget.
The meeting, which was sponsored by the Perikatan Nasional Women’s wing, was attended by 75 professionals and representatives from non-governmental organizations.
