Celcom users with iPhones can finally use the VoWiFi feature!

21/07/2022

Celcom officially launched VoWiFi in June this year, but previously only some Android phones supported Celcom’s VoWiFi feature, and now VoWiFi is finally available for iPhones.

VoWiFi, which stands for Voice Over WiFi, allows users to make calls over a wireless network (WiFi), so you can talk to friends and family over VoWiFi even if you are in an area where there is no telecommunications. The cost of the call will be calculated at the rate that accompanies the SIM card of the mobile phone.

The difference between VoWiFi and VoLTE is that VoWiFi dials over WiFi, while VoLTE dials over 4G LTE.

According to Celcom’s website, iPhones running IOS 15.6 already support Celcom’s VoWiFi, while Android phones include Huawei, Nokia, Vivo, Samsung, Honor and Xiaomi.

To use the VoWiFi service, you need to have WiFi Calling turned on in your phone. If you don’t think you need the VoWiFi service, you can also choose to turn off the WiFi Calling feature, which will not affect your regular dialing.
