Air conditioning price increased 9% to 15% but still in short supply.

04/07/2022

Air conditioning in the country increased by 9% to 15%, this adjustment has been effective from July 1, 2022.

The price increase is mainly due to the shortage of chips, an important component of air conditioners, which leads to a reduction in air conditioner production. In addition, the continued devaluation of the Malaysian ringgit, raw materials are denominated in U.S. dollars, so air conditioning manufacturers are also forced to increase the price of air conditioning.

At present, the supply of air conditioners is insufficient, consumers can not immediately pick up the purchase of air conditioners, it takes 1 month to 3 months to get air conditioners.

As for other small appliances, there are also price increases, ranging from 5% to 8%. Large appliances such as TVs, washing machines and refrigerators are also in the process of price increases.

If you are planning to buy new appliances, you should be prepared to be unable to buy in stock and may need to wait for some time.
