MMEA issues a Terengganu SAR for a boat carrying 13 people in Besut seas.
A search and rescue (SAR) operation has been launched by the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) for a boat that vanished in Besut seas while carrying three sailors and ten anglers.
Last Saturday around 10am, the boat with the registration number KNF 7040 departed from the Pengkalan Kubu jetty in Kuala Besut, according to Terengganu Maritime director Maritime Captain Muhammad Suffi Ramli (June 25).
The boat did not arrive as expected yesterday and was unreachable.
The SAR for the boat was started by the Maritime Rescue and Search Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Kuantan.
