July will bring another wave of price hikes!
After the government announced the cancellation of the top price of eggs, chicken and bottled cooking oil, these daily food items will definitely go up in July and people are urged to be prepared.
Currently, the government has set a ceiling price of RM12.70 for 2kg bottles of cooking oil, RM18.70 for 3kg bottles of cooking oil and RM29.70 for 5kg bottles of cooking oil.
The price per kilogram for standard clean chicken in West Malaysia is RM8.90, while the price per kilogram for Super Clean Chicken in West Malaysia is RM9.90. Grade A eggs are RM0.43 each, Grade B eggs are RM0.41 and Grade C eggs are RM0.39 each.
It is expected that the price of 5kg cooking oil will soar to RM38 in July, while the price of chicken will soar to RM11 to RM12 per kg in July. If you are in the habit of eating at a deli, then be prepared.
Thankfully, the government is still subsidizing the price of 1kg of cooking oil in plastic packaging, so the price of this cooking oil will remain at RM2.50.
