According to the announcement made by Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tunku Zafrul, the exemption will end on June 30, 2022. This means that the price of new cars will be increased from July 1, 2022.
If you place your order on June 30, 2022 and are not able to get your car by June 30, you will continue to be eligible for the sales tax exemption as long as your new car is registered with the Bureau of Land Transportation (JPJ) by March 31, 2023.
Under the current Sales Tax Exemption Credit, locally assembled vehicles are eligible for a 100% sales tax exemption, while fully assembled imported vehicles are eligible for a 50% sales tax exemption
