The UK cell phone sales report is out, Apple iPhone not surprisingly topped the list, becoming the best-selling cell phone brand, the second place is the Korean brand Samsung cell phone, and the third place is surprisingly picked by the cell phone industry’s former leading boss Nokia!
According to the report shared by Francisco Jeronimo, vice president of global data analyst IDC, the UK cell phone market sales in the first quarter of 2022 increased by 3.1% year-on-year, with a total of 4.9 million smartphones sold.
The best-selling phone went to the iPhone, with a total of 48.4% of the market, and the second place went to Samsung, with 31.9% of the market. These two brands also together accounted for 80% of the overall sales and 89% of the sales; it also shows the popularity of both brands in the UK.
It can also be said that one in two smartphone users in the UK is an iPhone, and one in three is likely to be a Samsung.
Third place Nokia only has 4.3% of the market
In addition, Apple shipped 2,393,100 units of cell phones in the first quarter, while Samsung had 1,576,100 units.
The former leader in the third place, currently owned by HMD, Nokia, although only 4.3% of the market, but is already the third place position, with a total of 210,700 sales. Following closely behind is OPPO cell phone, occupying 4.2% of the market with 205,900 units sold.
In any case, the majority of the wall is still occupied by the iPhone, the remaining Android cell phone brands want to break through, I think we need to draw up a more significant strategy to have a chance to get back to the city.
