The deadline for the government to provide the first dose of vaccine against covid for children aged 5 to 11 years under PICKids is 15 May. This means that the Ministry of Health will no longer offer free vaccine to children in this age group from 16 May.
Parents are being urged to make a decision on whether to have their children vaccinated by May 15. From 16 May, children aged 5 to 11 years who have not yet received their first dose of the vaccine can go to a private clinic and pay for the Sinovac vaccine. Parents are urged to register their children for the vaccination through MySejahtera by 8 May in order to obtain an appointment by 15 May.
However, this measure is limited to children aged 6 to 12 years, as well as children born in 2017 who will be five years old by 15 May. If your child has already received the first dose of the vaccine, your child can continue with the second dose free of charge.
